I thought Windows 10 (or 7 for that matter) would do it, as long as you have the password of course and it is a Zip extension and not a Rar or other. ![]() I know you have to use third-party software (unless you are still using XP!) to create password protected Zips but don't know if you have to when unzipping. She is using WinRAR to create these Zips. ![]() However, I can open them as normal using the third-party 7-Zip program without issue. I can't open them myself using Windows 10 whether the file is saved on my machine or directly from the email: The reason for asking is because a colleague of mine is sending these zip files to clients but some of clients are coming back to her saying they can't open them (I don't know if they're getting error messages or not) so she emailed me one of these files the same way she sends them to the clients, for me to test. I've been trying to find a definitive answer to this question on the internet but can't seem to find one!Ĭan you unzip a password protected Zip file in Windows 10 without using third-party software?
